Wellness Walks

Chicago South Side Birth Center is excited to announce our summer programming series - Wellness Walks!

Join us for a refreshing and informative Wellness Walk, dedicated to preventative health centered around birth. This unique event combines the benefits of gentle physical activity with expert-led discussions on various aspects of reproductive health. Whether you are planning a family, expecting, or simply interested in learning more about reproductive health, this walk offers a wonderful way to connect, learn, and rejuvenate. Don't miss out on this enriching experience!

Our second Wellness Walk takes place this Friday, August 2nd, at Washington Park on the South Side of Chicago! Dr. Sarosh Rana (OB/GYN who specializes in high risk pregnancy) has provided University of Chicago Pritzker School of Medicine second year medical students Aditya Jhaveri and Kiara Revels, with educational material surrounding preeclampsia, a serious high blood pressure condition that can affect any pregnant person.

On the walk, Aditya and Kiara will share important information surrounding preeclampsia symptoms both antepartum and postpartum and prenatal aspirin.

This event is an invitation to gain expert wisdom and insight into reproductive wellbeing, organized by University of Chicago Pritzker School of Medicine second year medical students Aditya Jhaveri and Kiara Revels.

No cost and family friendly!

Stay tuned for more information on our upcoming Wellness Walks!

Aditya JHAVERI

Aditya is from Brookfield, Wisconsin. He received a BS in Neuroscience and Behavioral Biology as well as Quantitative Sciences from Emory University. After graduation, he worked at Ernst & Young in finance consulting for 2 years before coming to medical school.

Aditya has volunteered in rural and underserved areas where patients lacked adequate care and saw the value of quality care services in alleviating pain and suffering. He hopes that the Wellness Walks at the Chicago South Side Birth Center will serve as a mechanism to provide educational resources and support connections with the community.

Kiara Revels

Kiara is originally from Jacksonville, Florida. She received a BS in Bioengineering and a MS in Community Health & Prevention Research from Stanford before coming to medical school. She hopes to become a dermatologist or OB/GYN.

Kiara watched her mom have serious postpartum complications worsened by the inadequate care she received. This fueled her to become a physician that her mom deserved, and continue to advocate for Black women as they interact with the healthcare system. She is happy to help develop the Wellness Walks at the Chicago South Side Birth Center and promote patient education in a meaningful way.
